Kauai

Since most of my family is in education (and we all had to take a "furlough week") we decided to take a vacation to Kauai, Hawaii for a week!  We had a great time and are wishing we didn't have to come back to reality just yet!

We stayed right on Poipu Beach and loved walking down most everyday

We took a zipline trip one day with my parents.  Pretty fun!

We had an amzing trip to Kauai.  This is just a sample of the pictures and adventures we had!

New Car!

We had to say goodbye to the beloved Explorer.  It was a GREAT car, but was definitely on it's last lap. 

With the transmission blown, it was time to get a new car.  After many weekends of researching and test driving we decided on a Chevy Traverse.

A great deal presented itself, so we are now proud owners of a 2011 Traverse!

Super Bowl!

We had the families over for a low-key Super Bowl party.  Patrick smoked some amazing food (pulled pork sandwiches and ribs)!  We had way too much food but it was a great to be around family!

Along with smoking the meat, Patrick made home-made BBQ sauce!  Yummy!

Test Blog Post and Valentines!

I have been inspired by other friends who have blogs, so I am now joining the movement! This is a test post to see how it all works.  I've been decorating for Valentine's Day around our house, so I thought I could share.  Thanks to Pinterest (lots of cool ideas) I have found my crafty side that always wants to come out!

I went to Bel-Air to pick out some flowers and the florist made me 3 bouquets in a matter of minutes using flowers she was "going to throw out anyways", so it was quite a bargain!!!
